Budget Meal Recipes for May 15th - May 21st

Welcome back to the weekly recipe install!  Wow, there are so many good recipes that have been shared this week that I'm drooling just reading the list.  Crockpot meals seem to be popular this week. I am definitely trying some of these recipes soon!  Thanks to everyone from the Dave Ramsey - Budget Meal Ideas Facebook page that contributed recipes to the group this week.

Ibotta - $10 Welcome Bonus

For those wanting to save on grocery shopping, we also had an app suggested that has digital coupons.  Ibotta is a fabulous free coupon app that is easy to use and gives cash back to a Paypal account. You also get a $10 Welcome Bonus when you sign up for the app.  This is so much easier for me to do than cutting and keeping track of paper coupons. I've used it a bunch and love the savings.

Here is how the Ibotta app works:

  1. Register and receive $10 bonus
  2. Select Shopping Category
  3. Select Store
  4. Click + symbol to add coupons to your account
  5. Validate receipt and get cash back!

You can select the store, search by category, or just browse through and pick what looks good to you. They also have bonus deals where you can make money from purchasing items.  For instance, last week Ibotta had a bonus deal that if you redeemed one rebate then you got $2 back.  If you buy an item that is less than $2 to start with then you have just made money by shopping!  Ibotta also have savings at places like Joanns.com and Hotels.com plus more.  Like Dave Ramsey says, the easiest way to save money in the first place is to not spend and this app helps you keep more of your hard earned cash to use for other things.

Dave Ramsey Quote of the Day

Since our Facebook group, Dave Ramsey - Budget Meal Ideas, was inspired by the obvious, I thought we'd all enjoy a quote for the day! Buck the norm, how are you saving money at home today?  For us, it's eating leftovers for dinner tonight.

Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze on the Food Budget

Dave Ramsey I am a die-hard Dave Ramsey fan.  I totally believe in his financial program. My family also enjoys listening to the Dave Ramsey radio show. If you haven't listened to it, you need to stop by for a visit. The guy is freaking hilarious! If you haven't read his books, DO IT! The first one you need to start with is  The Total Money Makeover: Classic Edition: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness .  If you have read that one but are wanting to try some of his other fabulous books, here you go.  I have personally read them all and love each book. On that point, I got thinking this week of what does Dave say when it comes to groceries and the food budget?  I decided to hit up Youtube and see what I can find.  I found a video by Rachel Cruze, "Don't Let Food Eat Up Your Income", that touches on this topic.  I was hoping in the thousands of Dave Ramsey videos to find one where he talks about the food budget b...
